Grading Requirements – 5th GUP


Score required – 70%


1) 30 Push-up & 30 Sit-ups


2) Kicking techniques – facing partner, five kicks with each leg.

a) Front kick followed by axe kick with the other leg.
b) Roundhouse kick to stomach going forward followed by jumping roundhouse with the other leg to the face.
c) front kick to stomach going forward, then perform front kick, jumping front kick (stomach, then face).


3) Self-defence
Wrist rolls (3 types)
Strangles (3 from the front, 2 from behind)
Head locks: (3 different types)
Hair grabs and Full Nelson
a) Hair grab from the front: break out by grabbing opponent's hand with both hands and stepping backward, putting downward pressure on opponent's wrist. Finish off with kick.
b) Hair grab from behind: Grab opponent's hand with both hands and twist under 180°, then stand up and move into opponent putting pressure on wrist. Finish off with knee.
c) Full nelson: twist hips to right or left, step around the back of opponent's leg, then quickly stand up to throw them off balance.


4) 1 Step self-developed: Against partner in ready stance; partner throws a punch. Block punch, and deliver three counter techniques.


5) Taeguk 2, 3 and 4


6) 7 step combination:
Each combination consists of 1 kick followed by any two hand techniques (blocking or striking), to be performed consecutively.


7) Free sparring: Tournament and street style.
